Purpose of the job
Incident restoration, maintenance and support of the core network, access links and site routers.
Key Responsibility Areas
Infrastructure restoration. Support the Network Engineer in maintenance and Support for the networks. Respond &
Resolve network Incidents. Interface with the third-party service providers.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum: 1–2-year National Higher Certificate in IT related field (Computer Science, Information
Technology/Engineering NQF level 5.
Experience: 2 to 3 years’ experience in IT.
Technical Competencies Description
Knowledge of: Computer and network principles; Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) Virtual Private Network
(VPN) Wide Area Network (WAN) Local Area Network (LAN) Quality of Service (QOS) Routing and Switching; and
Carrier Services Communication skills; Interpersonal skills, Self-Management Skills and Intellectual Skills.
Network/Infrastructure Management.
Interpersonal/behavioural competencies: Attention to Detail, Analytical thinking, Continuous Learning
