| Minimum Requirements |
- NQF 7: BTech Information Technology; or BTech Informatics; or BSc Computer Science; or equivalent minimum four-year Tertiary Qualification in IT. An additional qualification of Microsoft certified Database Administrator will be advantageous.
- 5 years’ experience in the field of Digital Technology specifically Business Intelligence.

| Primary Duties |
- Identifying, gathering / extracting, analysing, documenting business information requirements and problems reported, from business representatives.
- Participate in digital technology innovation projects in the Scientific Services division particularly with regards to Data Analytics and Business Intelligence (ABI).
- Implement data analytics models that are used to manage data as decision making tools through analysis, predictive modelling, machine learning culminating to what would eventual become augmented Artificial intelligence (Al).
- Defining, proposing, documenting, designing, developing / configuring, and implementing ABI, DSS and Web solutions to meet Business Process / Data Owner expectations.
- Administrating, maintaining, and supporting the systems solution(s)
- Develop programs in Python; JavaScript; Visual Studio; and related Analytics and Business Intelligence (ABI) programming tools for use on desktops/laptops and mobile devices (Android and IOS based).
- Training/coaching or mentoring Graduates placed under the Scientific Services Division.
- Ensure that solutions developed under the ABI complies to the following critical capabilities: Security; Governance; Cloud-enabled analytics; Data source connectivity; Data preparation; Catalogues; Automated insights; Data visualization; Natural language query; Data storytelling; Natural language generation; Reporting.
- Perform database data integrity and basic Database Administration.
- Project administration and management.
- Support and participate in the division disaster recovery and redundancy protocols of the BI, DSS and WEIR databases as part of Business Continuity Process (BCP).
- Conduct Technology Research to stay abreast of developments in Analytics and Business Intelligence, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Mobile Application Development, Decision Support Systems and Database Management.
- Mentoring and development of Scientific Services (SS) application users.
- Development of training programs for SS application users.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Take a role withing the SHEQ systems e.g., Fire fighter, First Aider, SHE Rep etc… when required to do so following engagement and agreement as per the act.
