Requirements:
Degree in Management Accounting
CIMA
Experience with disbursement accounts
Introduction of new systems
Staff management and development
Experience in the industry of shipping agents and Logistics
Duties include:
Management of the Accounting and Finance function and staff.
Maintain control over accounts department and branch accounting activities and assist with queries / problems which may arise.
Ensure daily, weekly and monthly internal and external accounts’ reporting is done timeously and accurately.
Ensure company policies and procedures in terms of accounts activities are adhered to.
Manage and control all current bank account details in terms of signatories and branch activities.
Control all payments (in line with authorization policy) whether by EFT, Outward (foreign) transfers or petty cash.
Check and approve all monthly creditors reconciliations and payments.
Ensure pre-funds received hand prior to disbursements being made.
Debtors control and reporting.
Scrutinize ledgers on a monthly basis.
Control and manage all month-end accounting and reporting procedures.
Prepare and analyze detailed monthly management accounts and supplementary information and compare to budgets.
Manage and control all VAT admin, payments and SARS queries.
Pay over all levies, such as SDL, PAYE, UIF, medical aid, provident, etc.
Prepare annual budgets.
Liaise with company auditors for audit purposes, and assist to prepare annual financial statements
Review payment terms with suppliers.
Oversee daily cash flow reporting and bank account management.
Control and manage all forex.
Maintain Fixed Asset Register
Ensure effective communication with operations departments
Provide regular staff feedback in order to keep staff aware of developments and facilitate a positive working environment.
Develop staff in terms of identifying training needs and making recommendations concerning interventions to address these.
Carry out performance appraisals in order to make staff aware of performance and identify areas requiring attention.
Ensure effective disciplinary and grievance management in order to maintain a positive working environment and enhance productivity
