Requirements
•A relevant tertiary qualification, first degree within the Social
Sciences field
•Three (3) to five (5) years’ relevant experience
•Registration with an appropriate professional body (for example
HPCSA, SACSSP)
•An in-depth knowledge of relevant acts and regulations pertaining
to occupational health and safety disciplines
•Working knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessments
(HIRAs) as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993
•Computer literacy (proficient in MS Office Suite and SAP)
•A valid Code EB driver’s licence
Note: The successful candidate must be willing to work outside of
normal working hours when required

Key Performance Areas
•Provide a professional service to the Directorate: Community
Services and Health in respect of post-event risk assessments and
employee support during trauma related incidents
•Monitor the implementation of City and Directorate Employee
Assistance (EA) and Safety Directives, Standard Operating
Procedures and Guidelines
•Provide a professional trauma management service to Directorate
staff in line with applicable policies, procedures and professional
codes
•Analyse trauma related trends and tendencies to demonstrate the
impact on efficiency
•Monitor compliance with treatment plans and report on the
progress
•Facilitate networking and communication and or consultation
processes regarding trauma management in Community Services
and Health
•Apply administrative processes and procedures including drafting
of correspondences, compilation of reports and statistics,
confidential record keeping and document control.
